Xmas at the beach

Absolute beachfront site – paradise

Daily diet of crayfish

Bringing in the catch

Holly having fun retrieving a stick

Paua – these are in abundance here if you’re willing to dive for them and they make delicious fritters – called Abilone in some parts of the world and is what your pendant is made out of Arlene.

The day draws to a close – only the seagulls left on the beach

A lone fisherman on the rocks

All the kids come down to see what has been caught and to get a ride back on the bike

Our home for the next few weeks and only 10 minutes drive from the city.

Looks almost good enough for me to have a dip

Tent city…it’s all locals that camp here – we do it every year.

No – that’s not me

Another day ending

Another beginning

It was worth the early rise to capture this

This is the moon rising but my camera wasn’t on the correct setting and I only had torchlight to adjust it so not a good shot. It was quite spectacular.

thanx everyone - the sun disappears quite early from our campsite as we are at the base of a hill so don't see it actually set - we are the 1st city in the world to see the sun - on the east coast of the North Island .We don't see it rise out of the sea from our home tho, so it's a real bonus seeing it at the beach.
