Echinacea purpurea today.

The next plant in this serial is notoriously known Echinacea. I have several species in my garden and they are really pretty flowers in spite of the lack of water in my garden and tropical summers.
There are several sorts of them – “Alba” and “White Swan” they both have thin white or creme flowers, while “Magnus” (my favourite, can send you seeds) has extraordinary large crimson flowers and flowers throughout all the summer. I never saw “Rubinstein” so maybe somebody has it and would like to exchange the seeds.
OK. Enough barter trade.
What is this plant good for? I am sure you ALL know it has natural antibotic effects, it is immunostimulant and is good to use in (tincture) in colds or flu. Just want to underline something – it is not a good choice if you have flu and are blood group 0.
If here is somebody form Canada or USA I would like to know how it was used by American Indians. As they were the first who used Echinacea sp. for medical purposes.

I bought a packet of Echinacea seed showing multicoloured blooms on the front, when I grew them they are all pink ! The same happened with Gallardia seed, all yellow !
Can anyone recommend a seedsman who puts the seed in the packet that matches what is on the cover ?

Look for German producers. They always are what they claim to be :)
