Phantom of Winter Garden...

…and Phantom of the Opera as a playback. Because I screamed like that singer at the end of the following duet, when I saw this disaster today in the morning…
Phantom of the Opera is great composition of Mr Weber. I just don´t like people to whom he sold his house in Britain…anyway
I saw Phantom of the Opera in London. Great, great, great. But – you must admit, these two guys sing the most famous duet enormously well. I for instance call Martin Chodur (the male singer) our Tom Jones. Enjoy holidays.

i suppose there is nothing you could do at this point?
we had that type of ice 2 years ago but a couple of months later those same plants were shooting beautifully!

It usually doesn´t make any harm to small or soft plants, but trees or their branches can be broken.

Amazing photos, Katarina.
Keep safe in the icy conditions.

Thank you, TT. Still warm here, but people in a town 20 kilometres from here din´t have electricity during the Christmas. We had Christmas like that some years ago. Not pleasant. But, not now. Have a nice Christmas.

Merry Christmas Katarina and thank you for posting such remarkable photos.

Thank you, Xela :)
Merry Christmas to you, too.
We have warm spell now and a big tables of ice are falling every hour from roofs. In the capital there is warning for people not to go out and to ride on the left side of the street (if possible). Those tables of ice are like guillotines now.
It was interesting, that we have had here ice Christmas and in Munich, which is not so far, they had 20 degrees of Celsius.

SL@You are professional by your father, so I would like to ask you what do you think about this - yesterday I checked my own garden, which is far from our house and I noticed that trees and bushes coped well with the ice. However, one Thuja (2 metres high) and one Juniperus (approximately 2 m as well), are bended to the ground, creating only 30 degrees with the ground. So too much. I tried to relocate them back just slightly, but they are still falling down, although I did not notice any crack on their main stems. Do you think they would recover or do I have to cut them?

The last pic you put on the conifer I have the same conifer and the same problem here in Hungary. The weight of the snow splits the top and bends the branches down. Mine all have 2 branches so what I do is tie them together at the top, this helps to give them more support plus I usually go out and knock the snow off the tops.

Kat, as they are only 2 mtrs tall they may be flexible enough to stake upright and they should re-straighten in time as long as you keep an eye on them you'll need large stakes..

Ach, thank you very much for this positive message. If tommorrow it is not raining or snowing, I will do that.

Slad@Juniperus was almost upright today and Thuja was fixed by rope :)
