My Lucky Day

I was sitting by the window having a cuppa when this little chap flew in to check out my fly-thru snack bar. He didn’t stay long as he obviously didn’t fancy the menu but it was long enough for me to catch him on camera.
I had no idea what sort of bird he was but those clever folk on Ispy a Bird soon identified him as a male Brambling and told me I was very lucky to have one visit my garden.
Not only was I lucky enough to be looking out just at that moment but I was also very lucky that, unusually, my camera was right next to my chair.
So all in all, lots of luck and I thought some of you might like to share it too. :o))

Many thanks to you all for your kind comments.
Life certainly is all about timing. we probably all have lots of different birds visiting our gardens occasionally but if we don't happen to be looking out at that time than we never know what we've missed.
I haven't seen him since but I live in hope of another visit.
I found a Siskin laying on my back door step this morning upside down but breathing. I think he tried to fly through the glass! As I had to go out I put him in the hanging feeder tray to recover out of harms way. He was gone when I got home so a happy ending I think :o)))
