hello all !
I have always been a keen gardener and took over my parents gardens, front and then back! Not that they minded being full time workers!I made the front garden over to gravel as we always had a hose pipe ban!we came second in the Faversham in bloom neighbours section.
the back garden i dug a great pond with a flexible liner from bradshaws.it has two railway sleepers as a bridge, looks great ten years on!
Now i have a a small new house garden on clay soil!It does not get much sun and is just lawn with narrow borders.I have lots of plans.just put up a good shed, cant have a greenhouse yet as I have two small boys under two! Ihave widened alot of the borders ready for planting and used an old hose to create some good curves rather than straight edges!
Look forward to keepin you posted on my next projects.

Look forward to hearing your progress. Always a nice stage when you've started the work and can now plan what 'goodies' to plant in the new borders!

Hello Linda, Welcome to GoY. I look forward to hearing of your progress. Milky is quite right.....this site is very addictive. Be careful not to put anything on the stove and then sign in to GoY. Nasty fires have been known to happen.!!

Hallo Linda - nice to meet you! Before we moved to Somerset we lived in Kent - between Chatham and Maidstone, so I know your area well. Our granddaughters live in Sittingbourne.
Yes, any help we can give - just ask! Someone will know the answer.

Hello New!
I'm totally in awe of your energy to do all this with two little ones aswell. When mine were that small all I wanted to do was sleep, or get them to sleep, so I could have a break!
One clear memory was of a local village council busybody ringing my doorbell one sweltering summer day and informing me that my kerbs and gutter (this was in Germany where every houseowner is responsible for her respective pavements and gutters, sweeping etc) were too weedy and I must clear them! I think they also sent me a letter which I should have framed. This was when I had two small children and a big fat pregnant tummy. : ((

Hi Linda welcome,Take heed of the cooking catastrophies, been having a laugh at others misfortunes and had one myself today, that will teach me !! Had some chicken cooking nicely in the oven in a sauce, then came on here for 'ten minutes' next thing I know there's a burning smell, nearly all the sauce had overflowed and burned on the oven bottom ! Good job it's a pyrolytic oven, got it on full blast.Would have been ok till hubby came in and said why is the oven still on-opened the door- smells even worse now. Can't even go in to wash up none of us can see for stinging eyes lol. Beware the GOY effect :o)

Hi Linda welcome to GoY. I have to say that your profile picture thumbnail made me do a double take. It looks like to the right of the picture there is a man with a moustache wearing shades but its just the wall and some garden stuff you have there! Can anyone else see him or is it just me? Maybe he's keeping guard over your garden :-)
