We have a cat that comes over looking for food, so this particular day I put a small dish out for him. He enjoyed it, but was on his guard all the time he was eating…………..

Thankyou for your comments, Olive, Freesiaperson and 230338. He's a lovely cat and although he wears a collar, he always seems to be hunting for food. It makes you wonder if someone has moved house and left him or something, but maybe he is just a hungry cat. I am a bit of an ol' softie when it comes to cats.............

Is he a stray or just a visitor? I feed Ginge a well known cat on our estate there seem to be lot's of us who feed him,and he cope's quite well.He come's to me for breakfast and supper, and will come into the house, but will only stay for a warm and then he is away again.

What a lovely cat. He's very lucky you are willing to feed him :o)
We had a cat once who was shared with someone else, and used to get fed in 2 houses. Someone threw him out of a car and then drove away. We called him Garfield and the other people called him Pip lol so he had 2 names and 2 homes :o)

We call them tree cats and it would be a he as ginger cat are normally hes, rare to have a she one, he is lovely love the way he said thank you opening its mouth on picture 6 down hehe. He ll be visiting you more often now, cats are never loyal to their owners, they are not like a dog, they still keep their independence not become to reply on humans and nature to hunt still. They chose you.

Whilst I think it's great that you feed your 'unknown' cat, may I put another side to this - and I don't wish to cause any offence as we all want to take care of hungry animals. But my own cat goes to the neighbours apparantly looking for food sometimes. But he is on a fairly strict diet due to his diabetes and if he is fed by anyone his blood sugar shoots up! We have tried putting a collar on him with this information but he always loses it! Please be careful feeding other cats - particularly if it evident that it is not a stray.

A really good and important bit of information Digginfit, I had never thought of anything like that and certainly there is no offence taken :o))

My next door neighbours cat Custer has taken to doing the rounds of are small community of nine cottages. He goes to every door to see if he can scrounge any food. Needles to say he has grown huge, he is such a cheeky chappy he will even run in the front door and steel from my own cats bowl :)

Now that IS cheeky Teds!! They always think they'll get something better elsewhere. I've even had a female blackbird come into our kitchen and eat our cats food from her dish. I have a photo somewhere of it feeding, and she thanked us by leaving a present on my kitchen floor.....Cheeky monkey.

The blackbird better watch out or she might be on the menu LOL
