Took the camera out on our walk today…was hoping to get a good pic of a hare but they alluded me (and the dogs!)
I ended up taking 150 photos!!

First are the yearlings enjoying the sunshine!

Then, bored of watching for hares the pups and I lay on the grass and I just love pictures of grass!

The hedge rows look fab! Cowparsley everywhere!!

Sluggy had a good time!!

Oh dear, the rest of the countryside pics are in another file and I haven’t made them small enough for GoY yet! So it’s off to the garden!
I love this part of the garden. It’s all getting a bit blown about today, I am concerned about my clems. The wind waits till they are all in bud a flowering and then it blows a gale!! :(

View of the pond from the Black Beauty Elder. The pond area is begining to look lush!

Another fave bed, Lavender and grasses and they don’t mind if the wind blows!

Pond!

White alliums! And my stone seat. I carted the top stone quite a few yards, very heavy! Surprisingly comfy and prudence like to sit on it!

Accidental good colour combo! Spirea and Aquilegia William Guiness!

The last Iris in this batch. Have really enjoyed this clump.

Big red Poppy! So red and clashes really badly with my two peonies!(which aren’t out yet!)

Side of the cottage. Have planted some scented stocks and a Black Hollyhock. This area get’s the morning sun until early evening!

And last but not least….My Buddah feet! They move mysteriously around the pond!

Some fantastic photos there Lulu...that poppy for one and the first grass pic...they are my favourites, but they are all lovely. Your pond looks tremendous now...so different to when you cleaned it all out! And I love your sunny seat! I would like to sit in the sun right now, but although it is shining brightly, it is also pouring with rain again!! :))

Your pond area is looking lovely this year, Lulu and your photos with the grasses are a hit with me too :) Sluggy seems as if he's having the time of his life...great action shot you've captured.

Hi Karen, yes pond is looking much better! And the sunny seat is a bit sodden today!
Wlass, Grasses are so pretty at this time of year. Lots of paddocks here at the stud to study them!

Your pics are fantastic Lulu! I LOVE the pale grass shot, so ethereal...and then up bounces the bold Sluggy! Lovely blog Lulu, could just imagine myself there, would probably get lost though...

Thanks girls! It's looking so pretty in the fields at the moment and the grasses blowing in the wind, always lovely. As for Sluggy, big, bold and gorgeously bouncy! Her Mum has a split toenail which is very sore, so it's off to the vet for antibiotics and a big bill!
I bought some rustic trellis for my clems yesterday and planted up a little veggie corner, am feeling very pleased with myself!
Also San, re the pond, I bought some glavanised twirly silver stakes (meant for peas and such like) They will look much better then those green stakes! Will post a pic when it's done!

my setter did that Lulu-- she ended up hving a 'shoe' as she insisted on unwrapping the bandages....

12 May, 2011

Well Pam, £70 later...Pru's split nail was pulled out (howl!) and anti biotics! It isn't worth an infection, poor pooch could loose her toe!

12 May, 2011

my Kate did-- thats why it had to be bandaged ( what fun!)-- are pointers accident prone like english setters.....

12 May, 2011

Hi Pam..well fingers crossed out girls are pretty good at keeping out of accident prone-ness! Although some have been known!

Great blog, Lulu, but my favourite photo is of Sluggy - definitely a show stealer that one, a real comedian :)

15 May, 2011

You got it in one Gee19...Sluggy is definitely the comedian in this house!

All green and pleasant and WINDY GM! So windy I can't go out and do battle with it, I really need to stake a large rose bush before it breaks!

22 May, 2011

I tried to plant up some Toms. but got blown off my feet!!!

22 May, 2011

Just about to walk the dogs, there will be 6 ears blowing wildly in the wind and noses quivering with all the scent!

22 May, 2011

Does that include your ears?? Lol enjoy walkies.

22 May, 2011

It didn't include my ears as I wear (constantly if there is a wind) a head band! We had a lovely walk and now pups are asleep...one in dog bed, one next to me in spare room and one on sofa downstairs!
Funny story though....today, I thought I would wash the doggie mega bean bag. So I went to the store room to find the bags of polystyrine balls to refill it with and was giggling to myself thinking....what if the balls blew everywhere...we have a stud open day a week tuesday... and low and behold...am filling the beanbag and a mouse had bitten holes in the bag, polystyrine balls everywhere!! AND the dogs hearing my exclamations of fury were worried about me and came and sat on the bean bag making the sodding things fly ever more out into the stud!
I now have a happy dog on a newly filled beanbag and a stud full of little white balls...as much as I don't like the wind...I am pretty grateful that it's blowing it all away and I won't be in mega trouble!!
