I found an atlas or two…in fact 3 atlas’s…Pretty good maps but no county boundaries…..

We got the UK

England and Wales…Hi folks!

Good overview of Scotland…Hi you guys!

Now to show where we all are in this big picture…………….Here we are in The Universe!

Zoom back in, to Europe, am loving those mountain ranges…

Canada looks pretty cool, Hi Lil!!

In fernland, Gloucestershire the rain it was pouring and the wind, well it blew my bird table over The birds don’t seem to mind!

And while we are zooming in we can see the Hellmanns fighting for space with the wine and The Chutney!

And zoom back out again. (Just because I like this pic!)

Still need to find my ruler!

lol I've not looked at my atlas for ages, it's well out of date by now as far as national names and boundaries go. But the relief maps are always worth looking at, and the SolSys and Galactic maps put us firmly in perspective.

i love those maps lulu! i can see where im going on holiday too!

have you labelled where everyone is?!! ferns are looking very pretty.

is your greenhouse ok after that wind?

I've seen a "scratch map", Sticki; it's covered in thin foil and you scratch off the countries you've been to. would be a nice bit of bragging for a well-travelled person to have on their wall!

28 Apr, 2012

oh thats a nice idea, i havent been very far so i wont be bragging!! but i/we could scratch off the places where we know someone from!!!

28 Apr, 2012

enjoyed the blog Lulu and maps seeing where we all live, the universe one is cool , whats the teeny planet next to earth? only one not named :o))

28 Apr, 2012

Glad you like the mountain ranges. That's me - half way along the northern coast of Spain on one of the mauve pointy bits. Hello!!!!!!! \o/ (double wave)

28 Apr, 2012

good thought, Sticki! if you search for "scratch map", as I just did, you'll find a few.

lol I'd need one for just UK, or even better, just London, to list my travels! both of which I also found

28 Apr, 2012

Would it be the moon San or are we on a colission course with a rogue asteroid........;0)

28 Apr, 2012

I love the universe one, so glad you showed it twice as I`d forgotten what it looked like.
I guess the pup is trying to see if its worth eating and you`ve just reminded me that I needed mayonaisse, darn it, lol....

28 Apr, 2012

I think it's the moon San!
Glad we can now see you properly Nariz!

Sticki, the tent/green house is still standing, unlike the bird table!

28 Apr, 2012

Hellmanns, the only unhealthy ness, lurking in our fridge (and a spare in the cupboard!)

28 Apr, 2012

28 Apr, 2012

I now need a bigger map table!

28 Apr, 2012

28 Apr, 2012

nice one bampy!!! its a very happy land too

28 Apr, 2012

Cool Lulu

28 Apr, 2012

reminded me of Bowie Sticki

There is a happy land where only children live
They don't have the time to learn the ways Of you sir, Mr. Grownup
There's a special place in the rhubarb fields underneath the leaves
It's a secret place and adults aren't allowed there Mr. Grownup,
Go away sir
Charlie Brown got's half a crown, he's gonna buy a kite

Jimmy's I'll with chicken pox, and Tommy's learned to ride his bike
Tiny Tim sings prayers and hymns, he's so small we don't notice him
He gets in the way but we always let him play with us

Mother calls, but we don't hear
There's lots more things to do
It's only 5 o'clock, and we're not tired yet
But we will be, very shortly
Sissy Steven plays with girls, someone made him cry

Tony climbed a tree and fell, trying hard to touch the sky

Tommy lit a fire one day, nearly burned the field away

Tommy's mum found out, but he put the blame on me and Ray

There is a happy land where only children live
You've had your chance and now the doors are closed sir, Mr. Grownup
Go away sir

28 Apr, 2012

hmmm there are some likenesses!!

there is also the much older version:

'There is a happy land, far, far away,'

thankfully this one wasnt so far away!!!

28 Apr, 2012

loving the maps especially Canada you are going to be a busy girl sticking all those pins in and I saw Banff right up there on the
Moray Firth coast so stick a pin in for me its clear in the picture of Scotland . Happy mapping :)))

28 Apr, 2012

lol Sticki, that song always reminds me of Arsenic and Old Lace, which I watched again last week.

I love the really old maps, the way the continents, or bits of them, are represented, and Jerusalem was put at the centre of them, as being the centre of the world. One of the King Louis said that he lost more land because of proper mapping than he ever lost through war!

28 Apr, 2012

Nice quote fran!
Not sure I have seen that film, I will have to look it up.

28 Apr, 2012

worth checkingo ut - it was criticised at the time for "bad taste" but since when has Cary Grant been guilty of that?

29 Apr, 2012

it was on the news pam, how badly the midlands has been hit ~ floods, trees down and roofs off.

29 Apr, 2012

we're very glad that we live on the hill but lanes in the village have been flooded since thursday, no houses along there but makes getting out to the main road difficult as the smaller roads that cross the river are flooded leaving only a couple of directions.....a nusiance at the rush hour!
!

29 Apr, 2012

we live on the side of a hill too, there are trees down between us and a nearby village.

29 Apr, 2012

Oh dear Sticki, such a shame and it causes such disruption

30 Apr, 2012

We have a moat scenario after all this rain! I see there's more rain over the next few days, they are even talking about cancelling Badminton Horse Trials!!

30 Apr, 2012

the hereford mud run was cancelled on sunday because of trees down on the course and there are fears that tewkesbury could become an island again!!

has the ha ha filled up to a moat lulu?

30 Apr, 2012

Yep, Badminton cancelled. Which means, instead of guests half the week, only at the w/end!

30 Apr, 2012

Shame to cancel Badminton Lulu, I doubt it will be resceduled

30 Apr, 2012
