Signs of Spring

Over the past 5 or 6 days we have had freezing frost, snow, sleet and rain, but todat the temperature is 6C. Yippee.
I was tempted to venture into the garden to look for signs of Spring, and found some primroses (the ones my hubby ‘murdered’ last year) and some lovely Winter Aconites. I didn’t take a photo of the daffs coming up as they are only about 2" high.
There’s hope!

If the primroses weren't murdered after all, does your husband get a retrial? :-)

I couldn't believe this afternoon-warm- sunny-- a primrose nearly out--
this time yesterday it was snowing!
my primroses have seeded themselves in the lawn I love to see them even in the summer when its mowed they seem to just flatten their leaves, I'm sure if I'd tried to plant them there myself they wouldn't have looked so good!

For some reason my primroses have been flowering since before Christmas though the leaves look a bit worse for wear. Isn`t it lovely to see the bulbs coming through, a sure sign Spring is on its way. :o)

The other day when we had a glimmer of sun I ventured out to pick up the dead foliage from around my front garden and was rewarded for my efforts. I found 2 lovely yellow crocus holding their pretty faces up to the light and a few strange yellow plants which I quickly recognized as Hyacinths devoid of light. They are now beginning to turn a more natural green. Thank goodness. Sue

Sorry Andrew, no re-trial. Double jeopardy - whatever that means
Green/yellow shoots, they're all welcome.
