An Optical illusion - I hope

My daughter has been down from Scotland for a week (the heat shocked her!) and I have an addition to the garden. Hubby fixed it up after a lot of hmmmming and ahhhhhing and then we kept looking at it and into it from all different angles. We think it looks good, and apparently the birds won’t fly into it.
Also a rose which another daughter sent (from M & S) a couple of years ago which was in a pot, is in the garden and is looking lovely and is about 6 times as high as it was in the pot. Photo attached, I hope.
The first water lily of the summer. I hope more will follow as last year it was split and decimated.
The forecast says that it will be extremely hot and humid this weekend, so I’ll be good for nothing, but I hope the flowers don’t suffer too.

I really love your mirror trellis, what a good way to add depth to your garden. It looks really good, I may just pinch your idea as I am looking for something for my kitchen wall!

Just caught up with this blog! Love the mirror trellis - I am frantically thinking where I can put one now. I've always worried about birds flying into mirrors in the garden but this seems ideal, brilliant idea.

I've searched on the Gardener's World site and also on Google but can't locate a trellis mirror like the one you pictured. Not sure if I'd have room to accommodate one of these but I'd love to track one down all the same! Dreaming again...lol
Lovely pictures, Mad.

I wondered if you would have got my message as I put it here, but I'm glad you did. Yes a lady should have a dream, I had this one for quite a few years and finally got it. Hope you do, eventually Whistonlass.
