new year..... new plants.......

Hiya everyone, its been a few months since I last posted but I have been keeping an eye on you all and reading your blogs. May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy new year….
Right now I am waiting for a delivery from Thompson and Morgan of a whole raft of vegetable and flower seeds. I’m so excited at the chance to grow lots of vegetables this year.
I’m planning on growing tomotates, chillies, courgettes, squash, peas, potatoes, leeks, onions , garlic, lettice and sweetcorn. I know I’ve been a bit early but I’ve just sown some tomatotes and leeks in the hope to get something started and avoid a queue for the heated propagator over the next few months.
I’m also planning on planting a border between me and my neighbour as we can see right into their house (and therefore they must be able to do the same) although I keep changing my mind over the plants I’m going to put into it. I think it will end up as a shrub border with a mixture of evergreens and some seasonal interest plants. I’ve been using Spintzhenry’s lovely blogs as inspiration. But I’d better gewt a move on as the time for planting bare root plants will be over before I know it and they are so much cheaper than pot grown plants…. Anyway happy gardening to everyone and hope this cold snap ends soon….
