for those who dont watch GW any more

Having yet again sat through another boring episode of this I searched the BBc for something else and came across BBC Scotlands Beechgrove Garden. I remember watching this with my parents when I was much much younger and even though we didnt have a garden it was still compulsory watching for us every week and even after all this time I found myself thoroughly enjoying it. The lead presenter is Jim Mc Coll who I still remember from all those years ago, but funnily enough he doesnt look any different even though he must be in his seventies. the advice is delivered with a tongue in cheeck humour which isnt scripted like GW. And the advice is excellent. this weeks programme covered brassicas, spring pots, auriculas, pest control in the veg garden and composting. Additionally, the web site has a very comprehensive fact sheet detailing all the coverage and plant names and varieties. The only problem is that the weather up north being much cooler some of the articles come a bit late for us at the other end of the country, but the factsheet archive covers previous episodes. I hope some of you will give it a go, Im sure you will be pleasanltly surprised. There is also a sister programme the Beechgrove potting shed available on radio iPlayer

I gave up with GW a long time ago, even before the t.v. went on the blink!!! Grandmage has a point. What the use of programs if it doesnt fit our needs?

Personally Great I think the 'new' presenters are too trendy, I loved dear old Geoff Hamilton & Monty Don, without them the prog. has gone down the hill (or up, depending which end you live, Lol ha ha.)

Had a look, reminds me of the old days of GW when mum and dad watched it but I was too young to appreciate the programme! Will definitely be watching it via iplayer, lets start that petitionto get GW back to what it should be and Beechgrove broadcast nationally. :)
