My Balcony

It’s been a lovely day; I have been out on my balcony for most of the day. All my neighbours have been out, chatting about their window boxes. I do love spring and summer. I planted some more plants out today, to where they are going to live; hopefully. I must say Charily and William’s vegetables and herb garden is looking good.
My little water feature is looking very pretty; I’m going to put plants around it.
This is a little dome I made for Charley and William’s, nasturtium and peppers are growing that.
My window box is looking nice and healthy.

I sure do, I don’t think people believe me when I tell them what I grow out there. I couldn’t get out on my balcony last year, so I’m I going to love it out there this year. I’m trying some new plants this year; so that’s going to be a challenge. I don’t understand why anyone would want to stay indoors on a lovely sunny day.

I see you have a lot of things growing on your balcony already! I grow almost exclusively flowers on our balcony but there are always a few tomato plants every year & even an occasional runner bean plant!

I started seeding early indoors. I did think I put the runner beans out a bit too early, but there doing fine. On my bit of the balcony I grow tomatoes and flowers.

My brother gave me 20-30 tomato plants today! I may put perhaps 5-6 on the balcony but the rest will have to go down to the allotment - there is NO WAY I could grow that number of plants out there! LOL!

The tomatoes will be, hopefully, planted out tomorrow on the allotment. I will put a few in pots today as the strong winds of the last few days have died down and the day should be much more warmer than of late as well.

You can’t have too many tomatoes. I love tomatoes I sow lots of them and give them to my neighbours.

I have thought about using the railings; I think it would make too much mess in their gardens underneath me. I live in a Maisonette and have a little balcony upstairs, I keep my little greenhouse out there. I’m sure I would be able to use the railings out there. Thank you, you have given in an idea for next year.

Just yesterday I changed the support for my climbing annuals on the balcony, last year I put up some thin plastic covered wire but it had sagged badly & I also broke a few of the vertical wires so it all needed repairing before my Sweetpeas & Morning Glory start to climb. I took it all down & put up some string & now it looks so much neater! It had been bugging me for quite some time but the moment to do it never seemed to arrive but now it's done.
