Autumn Glory

We have this lovely green in the front of our bungalow. The trees are very old but this year is the first time I have seen the Sorbus with so many berries. The birds and the squirrel are having a great time devouring them.

Sorry to mislead you but it is not one of my paintings, I put the illustration on to show the colours better.😡

Lovely to have a green amongst the houses and to look out on. I didn't realise that Sorbus grew so big, I always thought they were a tree recommended for small gardens!

I think it has been a good year for them. all the ones around here are laden with berries. Same with the hips and hawes in the hedgerows. Meant to be a sign of a harsh winter to come.

Seems like the storms we had last year knew just when to strike! The weekend of course so I had to get up at 5AM in the morning to shovel the walk & the drive - yes EVERY weekend.

I love the Sorbus tree Marjorie ! I had a lovely one at Willow Cottage which is years ago now. I too thought they were ok for a small garden !

Thank you for your comments.
Originally there was two sorbus but one grew so large that it toppled over and couldn't be saved. This year all the trees seem to have grown a lot.Rose I remember Willow Cottage. It' lovely to know you have settled in your new home in Cleethorpes.

At first I thought chestnuts but not possible. Of course it's sorbus berries I never heard of. The Bungalow looks wonderful. Great painting as well. You're very talented.
