Black looks Amazing Mark, All plants look so bright in front of it. Ive seen it used so many times and have been in Awe :) One day im going to change all my fencing from Dark brown to Black..

You could do with some sample pots, and colour a few panels to get the feel of the colour.

Interesting, I like the first green one best, the blue one looks nice but would look very out of place down our street!lol

I'm old fashioned, a stick-in-the-mud, I'd have brown or green, prefer my colour to come from the planting although I do like coloured pots in certain places, saying that I feel sure that it will look great whatever you decide upon....

Thanks for compliment there Surreylad - :) I did it to be like the sky and putting lots of reds , greens, whites and yellows in front of. yellows in front of blue is lovely - sun and sky :D Depends what flower scheme you want Mark, but look forward to seeing your finished fence

Do you dream in colour Mark?

16 Mar, 2013

I like Blue and green, but you have to live with it Mark, choose wisely. :)

That,s a lovely job you done putting up that fence and a nice finish to the top what about red behind the BBQ and black either side . Or just go for a soothing green and black behind the BBQ and some colourful or black pots in front of the green . Just a thought ...

You made a great job of that fence, Mark! hat will keep next door's dog in his own garden!
Think purple would be good....
Sorry, being silly, I don't even know if you can get purple fence/treatment.But I do like purple!!!!

StickiT.......If he dreams in colour, it's probably just a pigment of his imagination!!!
Sorry, I'll get my coat!!!!

16 Mar, 2013

thats good paul!!!!!!!!!! like it!!!!!

i do remember that garden make over program doing a purple fence [not bright purple] when they talked about it i thought it would be awful but in fact it was brilliant ~ it showed off all the plants beautifully. i think it depends what shade you use?

16 Mar, 2013

I'm afraid I stick to brown.Perhaps I've not got a good eye for colour!I certainly don't like green fences, I don't know why, but I like some of the pastel colours you see these days, but, perhaps I'm not brave enough!!!

16 Mar, 2013

I like a pale sage green, or ordinary brown, but then perhaps I'm just boring. Also depends which way it faces - dark colours there would make it look even darker. Don't like blue.

16 Mar, 2013

I would use plain varnish. Keep the natural wood colour which will enhance the plants. I like my split Bamboo
fencing because of this. It looks natural.

17 Mar, 2013

green for the main fence, brown or black for the bit behind the barbie (it might end up this colour anyway!) - dark green would be better, I think - it'll add some depth to what's planted in front of it seeming to go back further than it actually does?

or close your eyes, wave a finger around, then bring it down on the list - if you like where it's landed, that'll tell you something. and if you have to do the process two or three times to get a happy result, that'll tell you something too!

17 Mar, 2013

Ooooh Mark...that is a fab photo, clever lad....I love it.

17 Mar, 2013

Very smart Mark, pleased you were able to get it done, I can see Bonny stepping carefully across the pavers, due to very inclement weather my boys are hogging the fire, only fit for the ducks today.......

17 Mar, 2013

No comment. Why do I bother ?

17 Mar, 2013

Hi Grandmage thankyou glad you like it :))))

Hi lincslass thankyou yes bonnie did come out to see me but not for long as she got bored as the grass is like a mud bath at the moment and its been bitter cold:)))))

Hi Dianebulley yes i did love your comment of keeping the wood natural with a varnish.Having priced varnish up for the large amount of fence there is both sides and the time it would have taken me with a brush was to expensive and far to time consuming hence the reason i chose colours i already had.:)))))

17 Mar, 2013

That looks great Mark but bet your glad its finished - is there any bristles left in your brush.lol.
I like the way you have kept the section behind the bbq a different colour.

19 Mar, 2013

Your arm must ache by now! Its all very smart. I specially like the green behind the BBQ.

19 Mar, 2013

looks brill, Mark - how long did it take overall?

20 Mar, 2013

Hi stroller lol there is only a few bristles left now lol.Thankyou glad you like the colours:))))

Hi steragram thankyou for your comment.both my shoulders are still aching like mad lol:)))

Hi fran thankyou for your comment. It took 2 days to build all the fence and about 3 hours to paint:))))

24 Mar, 2013

wow. three hours straight, with no rests? lol long time since I'd be able to do that much in one go, or even in slightly smaller goes - took me over a week to paint my wall and I think that covered les space than your fence does.
