Poppylover’s blog was so good but she asked me to post a few photos of Joe Swift and Monty Don.Where I was positioned,I had a better view of them despite the crowds.
Joe was demonstrating the “living wall”.It had a shady and a sunny aspect.A very pracical way of increasing space in a garden. The plants are put into pouches which are clipped onto a wall or fence.

I thought that was a great idea for a garden with limited space too..and a lovely idea,to give the plants to schools afterwards...although it was mostly the public who donated them, wasn't it ? nice pics,Meadowland, and glad you enjoyed your day.:o)

It is very attractive, but at that price, it will never take off will it? Well, perhaps if you had a tiny courtyard in a very posh part of London....

Have a wee look at the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris...
It has been catching on for quite a while, here...
...well, not "here" as in where I live, although Monsieur B sells the woollen felt system... :))

Well I never! How did I miss this? Sorry Julia, to ignore your lovely photos. You did get some good shots of Joe and Monty, thanks for putting them on here. Im glad Pixi agrees with me, you should have asked Monty for a picci, Im sure he would have obliged. Those walls are mighty expensive. I saw somewhere a DIY version that had been done with a double layer of roofing felt and a staple gun. It was a fraction of the price!

Thanks Meadowland...watched this on TV last night. Was impressed but when they started quoting prices it seemed rather expensive...£130 for 5 pockets.
I have often wondered how they do it. Can't imagine it taking off in a lot of gardens at those prices
