Autumn Refurbishment of the pool.

It’s a fine sunny day,not too hot, just suitable for such a job!! It has been long overdue. My exuberance many years ago is the reason we are having to do this.I planted too many lillies and as you know they grow and grow. There were a few helpers, mostly active ones!!!The frog decided to watch from the edge of the wheelbarrow and wouldn’t budge!.The head seemed to be busy contemplating again!
Pool at 8.30am!!!
We took out 2 water lillies and decided to leave one.Wow what a weight they were to move. The fish were rescued with some original pool water and safely placed in the water butt.
It took awhile to pump out all the water and then there was the unenviable job of disposing of the silt and gunge!!Wiped the sides of the liner and hey presto we had finished! It was now 1.0pm and lunch beckoned.
After chicken in Lemon and herb sauce, followed by Viennetta plus a fortifying glass of wine,it was time to de -chlorinate the pool ready for the fish. The remaining lilly was added with some of the oxygenators.
It took us the best part of the day ,but a job well worth doing. Thanks to all the helpers. The fish look much happier!!

A job that you always put off, but oh, so rewarding when it is over and done with, well done.
We got rid of our large pond, and really do miss it, but then I think about all the work involved..........!!

Oh I hate that job, I love my pond but boy I`m glad I haven`t had to do a mega cleanup this year.
If I was your hubby I`d employ some more helpers, his look like right skivers, lol..Job well done and it looks a treat...

I bet you are pleased now that this particular job is behind you!!! Ponds soon seem to 'fill up' don't they? Ours is rather 'choked' to be honest but I leave that job to John because I am frightened of frogs.......silly I know but I can't help it.........with some people it's spiders but with me it's frogs and toads!!!

It seems a lot of work, but worth the effort to have a nice clean pond :o)
Your delicious sounding dinner must have given you the energy to carry on and finish the job :o))
