I've had a coulpe of disappointments with Parkers. If you buy mail order from Sarah Raven you will keep getting delicious catalogues which are a pleasure to browse. I've only bought from them once, last autumn, and they were fine. Never bought from Primrose, sorry.

Had disastrous results from Parker’s.......very very small! ....Sarah Raven is doing 20% off atm good reliable but expensive.....Primrose never bought plants .....other garden related items, but a good company.....Karen has bought from them recently!......I bought all our Monarda from The Secret Garden Club.....9cm plants but cheap as chips and well grown...with a 5 year guarantee....

I would only use Parkers for bulbs - their plants are poor quality in my experience. I am trying to support small, independent nurseries at present - Westcountry Nurseries list six different monardas and I bought some of mine from them

Brookside Nursery,s I can recommend as my friend Libet who used to be on here quite a few years ago is a landscape gardener running a large business with her sister and she told me about it the other day . The plug plants are jumbo plugs and very reasonable. You can even choose your own delivery date. Its worth a look ! And I am sure they do Monarda !
I wouldn't buy from Primrose as I have always been disappointed with them !
I hope you get sorted out .

Yes, I have been disappointed in the past with Parkers, but they really have upped their game and this year they have been great. Small but very healthy plantlets. I have also had the odd disappointment from Sarah Raven and don't find her plants to be any better quality than Parkers to be honest. Customer service is good though...they replace quickly and without any fuss. I have bought a lot of plants from Primrose and have never been disappointed. It's one of my favourite websites, mostly for their great selection of ornaments, equipment and water features. But they do get some really unusual plants. I bought my Aronias there and some lovely blueberry plants too. I can recommend them without hesitation. I bought my Monardas from Plantsman's Preference and they are super. An excellent nursery...proper young plants in 9cm pots but filling their pots well and ready to go in the ground. :)

Karen - do you get a lot of marketing material from Sarah Raven? I bought some plug plants from her in 2018 and got deluges of the stuff, both by e-mail and snail mail

I did, for years, and I asked them to stop sending in the end. I don’t get any now.

I think I threatened to send their stuff back without a stamp!

I've found a good selection of monardas at hardyplants.co.uk this morning. They are a good nursery near Basingstoke, and offer mail order too. Over 100 pages of perennials to look at if you're looking for something to fill your time!

Thanks Andrew...another one to browse.

That would be the very well known Rosie Hardy? She does have an excellent selection of plants......winner of many a Gold medal......

Parkers are small when they come which is why they are relatively cheap and sometimes mislabelled but they do grow away well in my experience. Both the others provide good plants but tend to be more expensive. sorry not much help am I?
