New Rose Arch for 'Kiss me Kate'

This week the bronze Rose arch arrived .It took us all of one morning to erect it and to anchor it in the ground securely. Planted the climbing rose on the one side…this is a vigorous rose,so fingers crossed! Will probably plant a Clematis on the other side. The pale blue Veronicas look just right at the base.Next year I will plant some Foxgloves amongst them.
The main arch in the front garden we have had for many years. It is being held up by the climbers.‘Warm welcome’and a Clematis .After much deliberation I decided to take the bull by the horns and paint this black arch bronze to match the new one….the bronze paint is as near as I could find.Looking at it finished I think the new colour complements the bright orange rose.Anyway,it will have to do.for now It was a very fiddly job painting between the prickly rose stems.Took me over an hour to complete.
Have attached some photos for you to see.

The two arches look lovely. The old one is very attractive with the roses on both sides and the new one will be just as nice when the climbers start to grow on it :)

Lovely Julia - it must have been tricky painting the top?! And as you say, the Veronicas complement it perfectly.

what a lovely addition to the garden.
You cant beat a well structured arch.

I hope there won't be a shortage of bulbs or next spring will look bare ...

Just catching up again Julia ! You must have a lot of patience painting that arch, but it was worth it as it looks great !

with a lyrical name like "Kiss Me, Kate!" it has to be a winner. I wonder if anyone on here has a Linda Porter Rose?

Oops !!.. I missed this one M'land, I like both your arches, I certainly don't envy you the painting job, I haven't got the patience for those kind of jobs and I certainly couldn't do them once in situ., I'd have more on me than on the arch. I agree the old one with the roses looks lovely and no doubt the new one will as well, it already looks good amongst the blue veronica's..Lovely photo's of your garden..

We have the same rose arch! We bought ours last year, to be truthful was really not sure about the bronze colouring, but we have had so many people admire it.....so it will stay! we painted our old one green.....itโs falling apart held together by the paint!
Have just taken delivery ๐ of some Veronica.....not grown it here before....
Pleased to hear the rose has settled down, they can take as long as two years....

The new arch is very dainty-looking and not too 'hefty'. Very appealing. I like the colour of the older arch too. I don't envy you with the painting. That must have been quite some job at this time of year.
I shall look forward to seeing how it looks when planted up.
