Trying to remember whether I have shown a few of these photos before…apologies if I have. The first shows the Japanese painted fern(Athyrium niponicum ) a particular favourite of mine.Secondly is Penstemon ‘Husker Red’.Hopefully will be able to divide this in the Autumn. The penultimate photo is Parahebe Avalanche.Does become a little woody, but flowers throughout the Spring and Summer. The last photo is a hybrid tea Cleopatra….repeat flowering with crimson and gold blooms…sweetly fragrant.

your garden is looking very good. I could never get Husker red to over winter for me yet Garnet and George V do really well.

It all looks wonderful, but like Hywel and Callie I love the steps, just so inviting. Perhaps it's living on flat land, anything that smacks of a slight rise is exciting! Amazing Palm? in the background of that photo too.

Your garden is immaculate Julia ! I got the Penstemon Huskers Red last year after seeing yours but haven't seen many flowers yet!

Just been out watering, Rose....the blackbirds and doves are addicted to flicking bark everywhere...This is the second year for the Huskers....I wasn't sure I liked it as a plant, but it's growing on me!Thank you for your kind comment.
