Julia, I think it was probably best that you resisted a piece of Ammi majus …. this year I grew it from seed for the first time, and it grew to 5 feet - a monster. It needed staking but still flopped. I won’t be growing it again!

Restful scenes, Julia. Lovely to share with us. I like the Ammi Majus too, always looks pretty in the countryside. I’ve actually been watching more of the Beechgrove garden this summer.

Wish I could go for a walk like that Julia, I have to wait for Sherryl at the weekends but the last two weeks we haven't been able to go, not safe to wander down to the meadows on my own we sadly have some weirdo's hanging around these days..Lovely photo's despite the brown grass..x

Does it feel to you that autumn is coming, Meadow? I noticed the light has changed and the tired trees are showing signs of turning. Your pics look autumnal to me! I started watching Beechgrove this week - had a very '70's' presentation feel to it. Anyone remember 'Mr Smith's Garden' with the knowledgeable Geoffrey Smith in brogues, tie and jacket? I was very envious of the beautiful lush garden they showed in Aberdeenshire with the 2 ponds.

Yes Julia, I have taken out the Ammi majus and it had a very small root ball. Maybe it would do better in a wet summer?!

It is very frustrating Julia as its only a few mins away from where we live, hubby cannot accompany me as its down a dirt track and through a turnstile, he cannot walk far now so uses a mobility scooter, by the time Sherryl gets home from work its too late to go of an evening, she has got covid also, the last two weekends have been a no also., good job we have a big garden for the dogs to get their exercise....

I feel for you Eileen - hope the situation soon changes for the better and you can find another person to walk with you. Maybe Harriet is a bit small to make a good guard dog? But our grdens have been major blessing and kept us sane so far...

Julia, I haven’t seen Chris this year on the show, which is such a pity…plus the two older chaps have now retired although George pops up sometimes..Carol has been on the show since I was a child!!!! I find it’s more relatable than some of Gardener’s World…
