This site is useless…there is another word I’d like to use but would be inappropriate. So disappointing. This evening I can’t add photos or open member’s photos.
Is this affecting anyone else on here?

I haven't been able to see the page for ages, but just had another go now and it's working fine.
Hopeless, useless, rubbish, irritating, frustrating, neglected, abandoned, and many more similar words describe GoY. I'm glad I belong to some other sites, I'm fed up with wasting time on here.

I sense a similar frustration Hywel.

Yes ! It hasn't worked properly for years, and will probably never change.

Last night I waited so long for the page to appear, no success, just a Time Out 504 Bad Gateway message.

This morning at 10.10, I tried to delete a plant or two from my garden page and got the 'Oops, we couldn't find this page' message.

I'm seriously thinking of joining another gardening forum ... it's just become so time wasting now. I messaged Dave re the problem on 1st March, he said he would inform the 'techies' ..... don't hold your breath!

16 Mar, 2025

At the moment I don't seem to have a problem but will be doing a blog soon so hoping there isn't a problem!

The site is completely useless..I don't think I can carry on ...there is no enjoyment any more.

There are other garden forums Meadowland, and admittedly they're not exactly like GoY, but at least they work properly, and with some patience you'll get used to them in a while, like I did. I wouldn't leave them now.

Shirley tulip said she's thinking about it ...

I hope you're able to write your blog Rose, I can't be bothered these days, I never know when I'll be able to see the page next.

It did not work for me either yesterday . Today is OK again.
One has to wonder what is going on.

"Patience is a virtue".

Hywel described this site as: "Hopeless, useless, rubbish, irritating, frustrating, neglected and abandoned"....very true, many people left because of that but I am still loving to hear from people who stayed. Most are here since the beginning. Very good gardeners.

Spring is almost here . Happy gardening.

I still can't get into my messages but most other things are ok. Yes, some days it's a bit slow but it's nice keeping up with people who's gardens you have seen change over the years. Karen's garden in Scotland with it's pod, Klahanie, who I think used to go to Mexico but I could be wrong, old age getting to me maybe. Hywel and all his wonderful fuchsias, Siris and her beautiful irises, I could go on and on, Wylie, Stan, Delonix and loads more with gardens so different to each other. I just think better the devil you know and this devil, GOY, kept me going through lockdown when I couldn't go out for months so I won't desert her yet.

Well, if someone insists on looking a rubbish site that never works properly and is full of problems that's up to them, but I can assure you neither the site or it's creators value your input or your loyalty, otherwise they would get it working smoothly again.
I haven't got any more time to waste on it, although I'll probably still look in sometimes ... if the page decides to open for me :(

18 Mar, 2025

So sorry to see you go Hywel . I really enjoyed your presence here. I will miss you :-( ......but I can understand.
Best of luck.

18 Mar, 2025

I'm not leaving Klahanie, it's just that the page won't open, and after trying several times I give up. It gets on my nerves and I've lost patience with it. I prefer using sites that work properly, but like I said in my previous comment I'll still be looking at GoY when the page decides to open.

Dave told me the 'techies' know about the problems with GoY, but can't say when they'll do something about it.

19 Mar, 2025

Thanks Hywel at least we know they are aware of it.

19 Mar, 2025

And 'aware' of it is all they are :(

19 Mar, 2025

Which Gardening forums are you a member of Hywel?

19 Mar, 2025

Gardeners Corner (you are a member there too) and Garden Friends. I find them both much less stressful than using GoY ... because they work properly.

And I'm fed up with flagging unwanted pictures and blogs on GoY too, there are several recent inappropriate pictures but I'm so fed up that I've just left them.

Yes,you are right ,I joined many years ago.I remember the print size was smaller which I didn't like...Will have another look.

20 Mar, 2025

I find the print size the same as GoY, and Garden Friends has the same size too.
The layouts of both are very different to GoY, and to each other, but with a bit of perseverance you'll get used to them, like I did, and like you probably had to with GoY when you joined it.
Seaburn and Balcony both belong to Garden Friends as well. It is a quiet site with only a few members, and I find it relaxing, ... AND IT WORKS :)

20 Mar, 2025

That sounds inviting Hywel..I will have a look.Quiet suits me!

20 Mar, 2025

Hywel, the print on GFriends is very small. That's what put me off before.

20 Mar, 2025

I find it the same as GoY, maybe it can be adjusted. I'll find out for you. It's a nice site.

Actually I think I had to zoom in to 150% so that the picture filled the screen ... whereas with GoY I had to zoom in to 110%.
Do you know how to do that ?

20 Mar, 2025

I'll try Hywel.

20 Mar, 2025

I think its so sad but I am still here, trouble is I get annoyed when I try to reply and get "The Oops!!!!."message, its also annoying to write a blog, only to find my photo's won't go on.... I did try the sites recommended by Hywel, Balcony and Seaburn but I'm afraid I couldn't get them to work properly, made me feel like a right idiot, don't get me wrong that was my own opinion, nobody said I was or upset me in any way, I too found the print too small on Garden Friends....Still say GROWSONYOU is the best one and wish it could be sorted, as I've said in the past i would willingly pay a subscription if it meant keeping it.....
I know a lot of people don't like Facebook but honestly there are some really good gardening groups on there, will admit I find the smaller ones more to my liking, also the ones that are monitored by Admins that are attentive, there are actually quite a lot of Goy members in the same groups that I participate in, as many of you know I'm not one for going out and about, don't do coffee mornings and suchlike so without Goy I was lost, especially in the winter months, I don't feel like that now as I've made even more gardening friends.. Be Brave, give it a try, you might like it......xx
Forgot to say, I apologise to the members who have messaged me in recent months, I have seen both Shirley, Rose and even see Homebird is back, unfortunately I have not been able to reply, my answers just disappear into the unknown...x
