Delphiniums and other little joys

Dont you just love how delphiniums have that lovely diaphanous quality about them? The petals shimmer like transluscent coloured silk. Reminds me of very fine sheets of opal. What a joy to observe up close.

The cosmoses are putting on a good show. I’ve tried my hand at the Ashton style of photography. I see why he does it now. Pretty!

I know I’ve just posted my penstemons…but I dont care. Here they are again. They were such a pain to get going from seed and I wasted so many packets that I feel obliged to go overboard on showing them off!

Don't mind seeing your penstemons again Melanie...they're beautiful...a really different colour.

Delphiniums have always been a favourite of mine but the slugs have a field day with them in my garden tho' the cosmos thrive!

I grew Cosmos one year and they were so tall that they flopped everywhere - I think I should get seeds of a shorter sort.

I love Penstemons...I haven't tried from seed, though - I usually take cuttings (some from other people, with permission, of course!)

Spritz: I wouldnt try them from seed if my experience is anything to go by. The only reason I did is becuase I get free seeds and no money from parents means Im on my own. Its the cheapest way but also painstaking and laborious.
