Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you have all had a lovely time over the Christmas holiday, and are looking forward to 2015.
We had a busy family Christmas, and the garden has been the last thing on my mind. However, a large branch came down from the contorted willow so it is going to get its regular cut back a bit early – the tree man will come as soon as the wind has dropped. Fortunately, it fell on the wild area away from any flower beds.
We’ve only had a couple of frosts here, so there are loads of unseasonal things still around – including the passionflower which continues to produce buds and is growing across the greenhouse door. I shall have to get it tied back – I get a cold shower down my neck whenever I go in there!
Our sons and daughter bought us a pub sign for our 46th wedding anniversary. It is for the White Horse Inn and is beautiful. We met in a college production of the musical in 1966. So now we must decide how we are going to display it. It was made by a pub sign manufacturer, so it’s fully weatherproof. It is also big! We are going to wait until winter is over before we decide.
And here’s something to look forward to:
All the best for 2015!

That's lovely Susanne . . . oooh, you're certainly making me long for summer (but Spring will do nicely, as it will be here sooner)!

It certainly is, Hb! The present was such a surprise, and it's a really beautiful picture! It's such a romantic idea, and apparently our eldest has been looking out for one for years! It's propped up in the greenhouse at the moment.
Yes, Spring will do nicely, Sheila. I have a sneaking suspicion there'll be a bit of winter to get through first, though...

Your sign sounds great ... Congratulations :)
I hope you'll show us where you decide to place it.

Thank you Rose! Yes, that's my garden - it doesn't look much like that at the moment. It's damp and messy. I never clear up until February (no matter how much. I tell myself I will) but. I like to think it's better for the wildlife! And so far this year, so many things seem to have continued to grow.
Thank you, DD. It was a real surprise! Congratulations to you, too!
That picture has me longing for the summer again ...

Well....Mel....that looks quite inviting , especially with the wine on the table ! Is one glass for me ! Hahaa!
I am the same as you and still have some perrenials to cut down ! Roll on the Spring !

Gosh, Rose - if only it was just "some perennials"! Mind you, a couple of hours would sort most of it.
You are more than welcome to a glass or two ... sadly the bottle appears to be empty .... I'm sure there's another somewhere , though!
