Growing with the Moon

Hi and welcome to my blog on growing with the moon’s cycle. Over the year I plan on sharing with you the ups and downs of growing with the moon’s cycle… what works, what doesn’t the successes and the failures!
Along with my husband, David, I’ve been growing organic fruit and veg all my adult life; even as a child I would help my father in the veggie garden and loved watching things grow.
To be sure that there is a difference growing by the moon we’ve set up two separate beds. In the moon bed everything will be growing following the instructions on the calendar in In Tune with the Moon. In the control bed we will grow organically but will plant, weed and harvest on days when the book advises us not to. This way we’ll know for sure if there really is a difference.
We will have to deal with the challenges of our two siamese cats, the local bird population and the usual pests. Will the seedlings planted out on the right day be more resistant than those planted at other times? Will the crop be bigger, better… I have no idea right now but if you follow this blog through the next 12 months then you, like us will be able to discover whether growing by the moon works

There is actually hard scientific evidence as to why growing biodynamically works. If anyone is interested I can post up some links.
Sorry but we don't have a TV...

Alot of farms in Germany use this system - they don't know why it works, just that it does.
Did anybody watch the series on tv, 'Chateau Monty' growing vines and making wind biodynamically.
Seems to be growing ('scuse pun) in popularity.
