Ready to Go

The moon bed is finally ready for sowing, i.e. it is composted and limed. Actually it should have been ready a week ago but I forgot to do one of the plots on the correct day so had to wait until yesterday to finish. Growing by the moon requires quite a disiplined approach.
The ground is prepared but the soil is still far too wet and cold to sow. Enthusiastic as I am I must exercise my patience and wait for the weather to improve. From experience I have found that plants quickly catch up on a late start and even if I think I am three weeks ‘late’ in sowing the veggies they will be ready for harvesting within a week of their normal time.

I think later sewings always catch up aswell. I don't usually sew things until April. I've never done it by the moon. Maybe I'll try this year now.

We could still get snow here so definitely to soon to sow anything

We have always sown veggie seeds directly into the soil but, as we already into experiments this year, we will probably try a few brassicas under glass as well.
