I sometimes feel cross when i go into B&Q and find a lot of their plants languishing and in desperate need of a drink….
Then there are other times when i think ‘good old B&Q’…Because of their lack of care i get nice bargains like these……
3 Gentian Makinoi ’blue magic…£1 each..
A lovely 14" hanging basket…£3..
An Aster Novi-Belgii Blue…£1
Oh..Another Hanging basket 16"…£3
Original total would have been approx £36..All for £10……Now thats a bargain!!! xx

I love a bargain too motinot. A really good recent one was a giant pot of agapanthus (headbourne hybrids)originally priced at £25 was reduced to £12 and it still had the seed heads on! - Bought recently from Wyevales - who are having their summer clearance. Im going to have a go at sowing some seed (with help from Carol Klein " grow your own garden".

You lucky thing, our local Focus has just closed and been taken over by B&Q so maybe there'll be a few bargains to be had here soon :-))

Yes Crissue....:>)..I like to keep a regular check on b&q Simbad...:>)..Good idea grandmage, perhaps their staff are better at looking after the plants, than our local lot and then you wouldn't get many bargains lol...:>)

Hi Moti, the staff at our B&Q are so dosey, and the plants are never watered, it breaks my heart. I purchased two herbs that I didnt want just to save them from dying Lol.

Well done, Motty ... that beautiful Aster for just a pound ... can I shop with you in future ... lol!

I couldn't see any problem with the Aster Shirley...my sister said, 'shove it in your basket and come on'.... ...Grandmage, i was in the store one evening and a little chap was using a hose and spraying the ground area of the GC..He never watered one plant, just my feet!!....Sheilar, Tt and Cinderella, thankyou......:>)..Poppyl, that was a great purchase, bet you were delighted!!...:>)...Grannyb, all the stores must be the same...:>)
Last weekend i got a large white Echinacea originally £9.95 for £2.50 and a Caryopteris 'worcester gold' originally £7.98 for £2.00....The only thing now is....Where to put them...:>)

I think we have all experienced that Moti, there are no gardeners working in B & Q, they havnt a clue and I cannot bear to see the plants in such distress.
31 Aug, 2011
It wouldn't do we were working there Grandmage...There wouldn't be any bargains to be had!!..lol

Not fair, I see all these bargains and our town hasn`t got a B&Q, Focus closed and being replaced with Sainsbury, we do have Homebase but our bargains have to come from Morrisons or take a trip out of town, plonker me never learnt how to drive,( duh).....

The garden staff in your B&Q must be more efficient than ours Nana...lol....Poor you Lincslass...You could buy a set of L plates you know...:>)

Love a good bargain. Well done, those flowers will be lovely with a little TLC.
What is it about B&Q?, no matter which store their plants are always neglected.
