Did anyone take the GOY survey?

I did tonight and spent quite a while contemplating the questions..
It takes about 30 minutes, but the questions that are asked are quite interesting.

A lot of questions made me think pretty hard but over-all, it was a very well researched survey.

So, what did I gather from it?

(a) more folks need to experiment with an organic approach to their plants and gardens!

(b) Plants hate “chemicals” and just love the “natural way that mother nature” does things!

Give it a try!

Hi N2O - have just taken the survey and like you found it very interesting to think about why the questions may be asked and what the survey may reveal about the GoY site and it's members. I hope we get the opportunity to find out - cheers - Cate =)

I found a couple of questions confusing so put my mark on the centre answer. I wasnt sure what it was asking !!

Took survey which made me realize how positive I find this site, having only joined 1st July this year!

We grow organically and compost everything we can, just love turning green matter into earth! It's a wonderful miracle!

I didn't do the survey because it doesn't comply with the mandatory UK Data protection act principles re research ; )

The survey was interesting indeed and I can understand why such a dynamic website would want to gather feedback about the site. After all, ADVERTISING plays a huge role in a lot of sites. I know. My dad is former director of advertising and sales for the huge H.E.B. food chain stores here in Texas. I know how important generating effective advertising revenue for a free site can be. That's what pays the "GOY" bills for all of the servers and T-1 lines that make it work.

All of that aside,
The main reason that I love GOY is the plants!
A website devoted to these priceless life forms and the propagation of them, improvement of them, help for problems with them, and just enjoying the beauty of plants and the enrichment that they add to all of our lives...
It doesn't get any better than this! ^5 GOY!

Lulu33, you're on the right track!
I just love what a good 160 deg compost pile can do!
Mother nature can work wonders can't she?
And she does it without chemicals.. Gotta love it

I've done it, could hardly think of anything to put in the negative feedback section ;o)))

Lulu got the word right - POSITIVE - that's what the GoY site is - full of feel good things!

and likewise Pip - all I could think of negatively is something i put in a blog that i realized may possibly have offended the odd person - but no one said anything so i hope not

as for negative things that have happened to me? ZERO - i love it all and it's the people and their passions that make it this way ...

I love it when all those batty gardening people get together and have fun....

T-1 line lol.

I would assume they only run 1 server or minimal kit. I would also assume that that needs to be on all the time. Does it take a bit more electricity than say a fridge?

Anyway if they want to make money from advertising I would forget it. And looking at the sales, why would you buy something mail order from here if you can get it round the corner a couple of quid cheaper. And how much commission do they make?? hmmm
