Those two little brothers were adopted from an animal shelter shortly before the shelter suffered a fire that killed 70% of their animals. The scene was SO sad.
We made a generous donation to the shelter to help with the rebuilding, but my heart bleeds for all of the innocent creatures that I held in my arms the day that we adopted these two cats. We adopted "Bear", the black cat and went back to the shelter the next week to adopt his brother "Smokey". The next weekend was when the shelter had a fire that started in the staff kitchen area and quickly spread to all of the "cat rooms" in the building. If we had not decided to adopt little "Smokey" the previous weekend, he would have died a horrible death.
I am SO thankful to have these precious brothers in my life! They are the best cats on the planet in my book!

That is such a terrible thing to happen,what a tragedy,and how lucky for Bear and Smokey to have been saved.No wonder you love them so much.It really made me sad when I read this....
