Just a Feel-Good Day

Hi GOYers! Nothing much in this blog except to say what a wonderful day it is! Nothing special is happening; the sky is blue with a few small clouds, the temperature is 30-something, there’s an occasional cooling breeze and – everything in the garden is lovely! I’ve picked broad beans and long-stemmed broccoli to go with tonights’ dinner (one of my neighbour’s chickens); the sprout plants are looking healthy; we had a decent picking of French beans to go with yesterdays’ dinner; there are flowers on the climbing beans; the beetroot are looking good – as are the parsnips; the leeks are promising to be fantastic; the potatoes and tomatoes are doing their thing; the mangetout (planted late!) are germinating at the speed of light; the young grape vines are looking very healthy and ready to do extraordinary things next year; the garlic is keeping away all the aphids and the onions are almost getting up out of their beds!
The roses are coming up for a second flush of flowers; the Sweet Williams just go on getting sweeter; the Love-In-A-Mist is looking blue and misty; bees are loving the lavender and oregano flowers; the passion flower is flowering with a passion and the deep yellow and red nasturtiums just make me smile every time I look at them – which I do about 20 times a day. What a lovely day!
I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday as much?
Best Wishes. :o))))

So pleased you're having a good day ~ we've added to the height of our back fence this weekend, and are now enjoying the privacy. Nearly time for dinner as well. :-)

Thanks for your comments. Glad you're all having as good a time as me and pleased I made you smile Ian. Seaburngirl, some soft fruit is (hopefully) my next project. We have four new peach trees, not yet fruiting, but the only small soft fruits we see in this region are strawberries, blueberries and the blackberries which I pick wild up the lane. I've never seen raspberries or gooseberries here - either growing or in the supermarkets - and I really miss them. I'm a bit reticent on spending out for something that may not grow at this altitude though. Perhaps I ought to do quite a bit of research before I exercise the credit card!
