The threat on my front garden

Ok this sounds dramatic but my front garden is under threat. From HIM! Yes, that man I love who parks his car in the designated driveway wants to expand his car parking facilities. This would shrink my front garden somewhat.

As it was this evening when I got in, it’s in 2 parts divided by the path. It is north facing and gets very little sun.

The acers are on the safe side so they won’t be touched.

There are at least 3 or 4 types of fuschia, this is just flowering now.

This eucalyptus is to be pollarded in the spring.

There are still gems of colours – I have no idea what this wee darling is?

We have quite strident debates around his killing ways, so far I am winning ;)

I hope you win the tug-of-war in your front garden. Your acers are stunning....such a beautiful red! I know often we need off-street parking but it seems a shame to sacrifice some pretty garden.

Good ! I'm glad you're winning ;o)
He already has somewhere for the car so what's the problem ?
I'd make him park on the road and expand the garden lol
Some people are so boring.

More power to your garden!

Thanks all. It's actually my car he is making room for. But I'm fine on the road. The acers are so bright red at the moment they glow.

what a beautiful garden! seems an awful shame to take any of that away. perhaps you could make an underground car park??? those acers are fantastic.
perhaps there should be a new scheme ~ those who like gardens make their whole front garden a beautiful place ~ like a mini park for everyone to enjoy and those who dont make their front patch a car park ~ does that work?

Beautiful acers, they look fantastic. Glad to hear you're pruning that Eucalypt right back though, lol!

Are you still holding out for garden space and no car park? I sure hope so...your garden photos are so beautiful and everything looks so well established.

At the moment i am, but parking is horrendous here so will probably agree to relinquish a third next year.

The Acer leaves are all down now due to very high winds here in Edin.

Will need to start tidying the front a wee bit.
