He didn,t go back in his nest so I think we can safely say that he has left home , one more mouth to feed in the morning ..LOL..

Funny Amy i was picking some bird food up yesterday, while i was round the shops with my sister, all of a sudden she said "good greave what you feeding birds or an army".

You can,t say 'no' can you Clarice , we kid ourselves that they will starve if we don,t feed them . but more and more of them are coming and it,s not even winter .. we go to a farm where they grow bird seed and buy sunflower seed by the sack 25 kilos at a time .. I have some sunflowers in the garden I hope to have some seed off them later ..:o)

I enjoy feeding them more in summer than winter, as i get loads & loads of starlings, towards middle to end of september they will overtake my garden, but the funny thing is around march the european starlings go back, and we only have our own then, but it goes so quite as there's no more falling out, honestly it does'nt matter how many feeders there are or how much there is for them they always wont the same, and all hell breaks out with them.

I know what you mean Clarice .. late this afternoon , there was a terrible commotion going on somewhere in the garden , I honestly thought it was a cat fight , I rushed round to find out what was going on and it was two pigeons , they were really going at it , a proper fight , my cat was sitting there watching .. lol..

Tell me about it ! Asked Jane what we needed from the supermarket yesterday and she immediately rattled off..apples.sultanas and peanuts ! No...not pies,crumbles and scones for me...extras for the birds !! Thats on top of seed and mealworms from Wilkos ! Like you Amy...going for wholesale end of this year !!

It pays to go for the big sacks BB , it seems a lot all at once but it does last a long time it costs £ 15 for 25 kilos .. when you think how much they charge for a small bag it,s worth it ...

Think i should do the same, like you BB/Jane i go to wilko's, the hardest bit is carrying it on the bus, refuse to pay £5 for taxi when i get free bus pass.

Yes Clarice..like we intend to do why dont you source a local supplier,and then they will deliver to you ! We intend to do that this autumn..before the bad weather sets in !

I was thinking i get a leaflet 3-4 times a year from garden birds, and they are about the same price as Amy was saying, they are part of gardeners world i think and if your order is over so much the postage is free, so its just a matter of ordering a few things at once, the only thing that puts me off buying it that way is having a lot in the shed and encouraging mice in, have to look if wilkos still sell dustbins,they are so hard to find, as no body sells them any more.

Yes think Wilkos do plastic bins Clarice.....but if not they do stacking plastic storage boxes with lids,quite cheaply.Let us know how you get on !

We have a strong container for our bird seed , we found out the hard way that mice quickly find a way into anything , we have even had chewing marks on plastic !
Corn is quite reasonable if you go to someone who sells it for chickens !

Poor BB i,m trying to imagine you with your supper , I can,t , the cupboard is bare , you could have an apple ... LOL..

Or a few Sultanas Amy ! Got some "value" scones from Morrisons the other day.Two packs of 10 for 33p a pack....for the birds !! Lol !!
