Shush I'm staring.........Lol

To be honest, Gt, I think it's a bit monstrous, and I wouldn't have chosen it.
I don't think it's a Tiger Lily, although of course I can't be sure...I did grow some many years ago, and this is a lot taller. I shall leave it to flower, and try to mark which one it is in the pot...the others were lovely!
I don't think I want it again next year...I'll donate it to the lily beetles! LOL.. Then they might leave the others alone!

I think the Turk's caps are quite useful for shady areas.
28 Jul, 2009

Looks like lilium tigrinum or tiger lily to me Spritz :)

Sorry, everyone - you ARE right, and it is definitely a Tiger Lily - I looked through my books etc while we were off-line, and found it in a magazine!
My memory of the ones I grew must be wrong...and I still don't like it!
Alice - you're on...I will try to remember when it's dormant!

I have several of these, they're one of my favorite flowers. The hummingbirds love them. They will go to each dot as if there's some sort of nectar on the dots; lol, I'm pretty sure there's not :)
30 Jul, 2009
Shame we don't get humming birds here, isn't it! :-(

Hi Barbara, Hows your day been? We went out for the day and got soaked within about an hour and a half ! :-((
30 Jul, 2009
Rained this morning, then blue sky and some sun and wind this afternoon! I got a lot done in the garden. :-) Are you dried out now?
30 Jul, 2009
Just about, We went to the coast for the day (Skegness) and It started raining roughly 20 minutes after we got there and by the time we had got everything back in to the car I was soaked. We were back home for 1:30 and its a two hour drive! :-((
Never mind, as my gran said your skins waterproof ! ! ! :-))
30 Jul, 2009
What a shame! :-((
Have you planted your Nigella seeds yet?
30 Jul, 2009
I was waiting to put them in the new bed, how long do you think I have?
30 Jul, 2009

Funny how I seem to be on my own here, not liking it!
3 Aug, 2009
Ah, well Spritz, to each his own!
the world would be really boring if we all liked the same things!
3 Aug, 2009
True - but it has to go! Luckily, it's in a pot, so it'll be easy to remove at the right time. :-)
3 Aug, 2009
Ah well, I'm sure Amblealice or Ian would give it a good home for you!
3 Aug, 2009
I'm being a gentleman and letting AA have it, so there. :~))
3 Aug, 2009
I did say Alice could have it, didn't I - don't know when, though - I suppose it will have to be when the stem dies back.
