Lovely. I wonder what the collective name for Hoverflies is? A "Flight" perhaps or even a "Picnic" as you have managed to point out or how about a "Gee" of Hoverflies!

A "nineteen" of hoverflies ?
.... nineteen to the dozen...Lol.

A "hamper" of hoverflies ?
.. open up the picnic hamper and there are the flies. Lol.

Thank you everyone, I looked at the sunflower this morning and they were all back again (and they looked like the same ones!!). Lovely to have - pity they don't eat slugs and snails as well :)

Ah youve, got them as well Gee , I wonder if that means we have more aphids than anyone else , could be a Hoover of Hovers !. sucking up the aphids .....
