Five-lined skink

We call them blue tailed lizards, and they are EVERYWHERE you look this time of year .....lol. If you try and grab it by the tail it will fall off, and the lizard will be long gone, it just grows another tail....:-)

We used to spend hours when we were children, chasing these lizards around the outside of the house..lol. They loved to sun on the porches and stonework. Good memories...!

Thanks for your comments ! They are extremely quick little fellas, rarely ever get caught Clarice, and when they do, they lose their tail and still get away...:-)l wish I could lose my tail that easily...lol

Tail or tail end is southern slang for butt or a**, here in the States...lol. Had you all worried there for a moment, thinking I was a freak of nature didn't I...LMAO.
I'll use it in a sentence for you as an example, " I'm exhausted, I worked my tail off today."

Lovely to see the little lizards around. I remember as a child we used to get little lizards here in England but haven't seen any for years.
