11 Sep, 2009

Now thats what I call a tomato, is it a record I wonder?

11 Sep, 2009

Certainly is compared to ours DD ..good for sarnies .. you make your own bread too Milky ? must have an industrial oven to make sandwiches big enough lol

12 Sep, 2009

Well Bonkers, just as a matter of interest, I just measured it round the middle and its a whopping 15 inches ha ha ha ....PS I dont make my own bread because I wouldnt be able to stop eating it......Nothing like the smell of fresh bread still warm......

12 Sep, 2009

Lovely we have a little bakery at end of road .. tiny little shop with old tins and things still in jars .Husband and wife team run it and will make things to order ..wonderful even Christmas cakes which weigh a ton .

Could you bake that tomato with a filling ..sorry no cook as you can probably guess..

12 Sep, 2009

Your right Bonkers, you could...Like they do on the Greek Island, stuffed with rice and mnce and herbs....brill idea......

13 Sep, 2009

Great sliced in an oil and vinegar dressing with basil and garlic, and perhaps mozzarella, with torn basil leaves.........shall I go on?

13 Sep, 2009

Yes please DD got the oven on ..how long do you cook salad for ?

13 Sep, 2009

Sounds wonderful Dotty.........

14 Sep, 2009

BB your barking..........Milky it is!!

16 Sep, 2009

Believe Barking to be in Essex DD .. that would explain Milky and Toto lol.. I m in Yorkshire but we do have a village called Crackpot ...

16 Sep, 2009

Well that says it all Bonkers............

17 Sep, 2009

What a size, Milky...what on earth were you feeding that plant on......whatever it was ....you should write to the company and offer your pic as an advert...you could win a year's supply free Tom food!!! If it tastes as good as it looks - we will all be round for supper!!!!

18 Sep, 2009

So Sorry Alzheimer, but Ray's already eaten it......and all I fed it on was Tom food.....Wilkinsons Tom food at that...........

18 Sep, 2009

Good advert for Wilkinsons....lol !!

18 Sep, 2009

27 Oct, 2009

I know Sandra....so many pages of Tomatoes alone.......

27 Oct, 2009

We grow heirloom tomatoes icluding brandywine. Good job!

2 Nov, 2009

Tasty arent they Dove c......sometimes not particularly nicely shaped, but lovely to the tastebuds....

2 Nov, 2009

of the fouteen varieties we trialed this year...German red strawberry were our favorite big one...so big ...so red and so tastey..2lb 4oz was the biggest and not too deranged in shape.

4 Nov, 2009

Wow....I shall make a note of that name Sandra, and give them a try.....

4 Nov, 2009

the oddest one was 'hillbilly potatoe leaf' tasted nice but the fruit was so lumpy and bumpy and odd brown bits on the skin.

4 Nov, 2009

Not heard of that one Sandra, but I shall certainly try the german one

4 Nov, 2009

Gordon Bennet !!!! Does the plant grow across the floor, like a courgette ? If not, how on earth do you support it ? I still can't get over the size of that Tom !

29 Nov, 2009

Nor could we Muddywalters.....It really didnt need that much support at all apart from a really sturdy cane, and a little extra tying to the cane than normal, to stop the weight making them slide down. The trusses themselves seemed to cope adequately with the weight of the toms themselves....

29 Nov, 2009

Wààààww!!! One is enough for a whole pot of soup ;-)

27 Jul, 2011

Ha ha It certainly was Hildadorisser......

28 Jul, 2011

I have only just found this pic Milky...I love it. The first thing I thought of were those ketchup bottles in the 1970's. I am trying tomatoes at the other end of the scale this year.."Tomberries" I have no idea if they come true from seed but worth a go.. Lovey gave me some advice today re tomatoes. Hopefully I will not have to resort to Chutney again next year...Happy Christmas to you.

18 Dec, 2011

We grow the small ones too Pimpers....I love them because they are so much sweeter, and just bite size as I walk past the plants ha ha ha Lol......Tomberries a nice one.....but I love Sungold.....so delicious.......
