This is a lovely specimen, grows well up to 2.5 m. tall & the birds love it.

Davy yes you can buy this in UK as I have two different varieties, dark green leaved one and gold leaved form other name is Leycesteria Formosa, bought mine from small local nursery, know Plantworld sell seeds, never tried from seed myself though so don't know how easy they are.

I've seen some flowers very much like these growing in some gardens downtown. I had thought of taking a photo of them to ask if anybody could id them, but it looks as though that won't be necessary now, thank to you!

looks like the cultivar 'Golden Lanterns', also comes true from seed, which it seems to do rather a lot.

Shame I didn't take any photos after all as this Friday I didn't go home from town in the direction I go other times so didn't see these flowers again. :-(
