when I look at photos of Hawaiian hills they seem "coated" or "moss covered" with thick vegetation.... this is a very beautiful scene. Is this near where you lived?

No this is the northereastern part of O' ahu. It tends to have more rain and wind...so it's always green.

I'm from Honolulu, HI in a district called Kalihi Valley(which is located on the south part of the Island). It's in the hills above downtown and receives a lot of rain also. It's pretty much in the tropical rain forest.

Hi Delonix, O'ahu is my most favourite place in the world, we have visited the Island five times, and hoping soon to make it six, I have trekked up Mount Tantalus and been to the top of Diamond head, and my favourite place on the Island is Hawaii Kai, looking mauka it is stunning.

Such a beautiful area fantastic photo those palms set it off a treat.

Not many humans then to spoil it, I would rather go to a quiet place than towns heaverly populated.
