The farmers i know tell me that because all the berry trees are so packed this year it means a very hard winter :-((((

Thanks girls , I can't tell you i'm afraid Sandra , these trees were already here when we came ..

Louise these farmers contradict each other , some say it's the sign of a hard winter to come , others say it's the sign of the good summer we've had .... these trees have always had a lot of berries on since we have been here , we have friends who come and cut it for xmas decor. they have to have it 6 wks before xmas and keep it in a bucket of water .. if they leave it any longer there isn't any left , the birds have it !

I could save you all the baby ones that grow in my garden Dawn but it would take a lifetime for them to grow to any size :o(

That's the problem isnt it Amy - its the same for beech - beautiful hedges if you can be patient.

We set a beech hedge last year Amy and I'm not a patient person, lol. I dont want it to be too high as long as its nice and thick.
