I've always liked to grow them since a boy at school in London. We used to get Daffodils & Nasturtiums to grow at home every year & then took them back for the school flower show. Contrary to what you may think I never did get any prize or good points or whatever the reward may have been. :-(

I don't agree with prizes it catagorises children to make them feel inferior to others, when they have just as good talent in another way, which some times is not in the school system. These are lovely

I agree with you but on the other hand a little competition stimulates children to do things, a stimulus that we all need to get on with things that we otherwise might not do.
