Recycling!

My little lovebird, Poppy, loves these perch 'twisters' but they become very tatty over a six month period. I treated her to a new one but thought the wild birds might enjoy it if it was loaded with tasty treats!

Agree with girls a brill idea.

I don't think pigeons would land on it, PP, as it is like a spring and bounces about quite a lot :)

Trouble with our lot of birds is they are so wary if we alter anything. Even reposition one of the feeders. Mr Blobby,a kitteny pussy cat who adores birds, flung himself from the hawthorn like a flying suirrel, hit the deck running (thank goodness) when I turned the key in the door lock yesterday morning. Will try this elsewhere in the garden.

The blue tits are using it but the springiness is keeping the starlings, etc away! I adopted my little lovebird when her owner died and wasn't discovered for several days. Her partner and two others had also died. I wouldn't be without her now, she is so curious and amusing. Still not sure of her sex though :)

You do have to watch and check under their wings as both mine died with lumps under the wing. I found out too late its extra vitimins which can be bought in powder form and added to their food.

That useful to know. I have a couple of friends who have avaries and are into all sorts of birds. They are very helpful when I am worried.

That is good when you know some with knowledge and experience.
