This is lovely Ray - what is it, lol .... a perennial?
I think you must be about 20 years away from worrying about the Menopause, lol.
I wonder what the weather has been like on Exmoor?
26 Oct, 2009
Hi Dawn yes perennial lots of common names like snakeroot think the nicest though is fairy candle ..so late to flower this year usually mid summer .
Happy in shade and likes it moist grows up to 6 feet plus ok ok yes will try some cuttings can see this by your pond cum lake.
When does male menopause start then another 20 years will be past caring lol
Imagine that at Halloween Dawn in a tent on Exmoor ..spooky hope the Beast of bodmin doesnt travel ..

Thanks Ray, that would be good if you could get some cuttings going :-)))
I think men go through more of a middle aged crisis, ha ha, around 50, so you're years away from that, ha ha.
I cant imagine being in a tent on a Moor at all Ray .... do you remember the film An American Werewolf in London, they were on the Yorkshire moors though.

Love it, it seems to illumate

About 50 Dawn? That would explain a lot then ..yes recall the film and sure Toto will as well . He s walked along Pennine Way and this crosses Cleveland Way he s visited the Tan Hill pub the highest and probably remotest pub in England.
Its the only building for miles around and was used for the opening sequence of this film ..they used to keep the pub sign used in the film behind the bar.Seeing he survived that think he should be Ok .
Thanks Morgana.

Lovely plant Ray! After 60 it is regression to childhood/youth that becomes a problem....
28 Oct, 2009
Oh Ray, the pub was the Slaughtered Lamb, ha ha.
Arlene: Thanks for the warning, :-)
28 Oct, 2009
Thanks Arlene ..guess I must have started early or probably never grew up in the first place ..
Thanks Dawn can recall the pub sign with big black wolf on it ..it was also the pub used in that double glazing advert with Ted Moult. Trouble was they didnt have planning permission for it and had to pull it out after filming ..

I can recall a tent here in a village called Kerseley Village about 30 odd years ago it did nt house a wear wolf though it was called the Blue tent. lol I dare not repeat on here who and what it was used for.

This is pretty, Ray/Jane...!
Any chance of a cutting please....?
I love perennial evergreens and this has such an attractive flower.
Thanks. xxx
PS. Still experimenting trying to grow you an Armandii cutting.... I have one or two hopefuls for spring 2010....
I could have made a blog out of all my attempts, especially with the photos I have of the frog which took up residence in one of the cuttings pots..I think it was hoping for a trip along with the Armandii to a life of luxury in your Yorkshire ponds...Lol...

Black Cohosh is the common name~wouldn't mind a cutting too please?
29 Oct, 2009
Ray/Jane, I remember the sign, ha ha.
I didnt realise the pub was used for Everest Double glazing ads! Ted Moult lived only about 3 miles from here, when I was a kid we used to go to his farm and pick strawberries, one of the first, pick your own. Goodness knows how he got into TV.

Thanks TT they arent easy to get established as other clematis understand .. going to be busy with all these cuttings arent I ?
Mr frog waiting patiently here too ..thanks Arlene seems to have so many common names .
Thats a relief Dawn wondered if you d of heard of him or me just showing my age !
29 Oct, 2009
Oh yes Ray, he was a familiar face around here. A farmer turned celeb, ha ha
29 Oct, 2009
Aye we could be entertained by such simple things back then ..Dawn lol
A blackberry and apple were things you ate .. a Wii you did in private and an Ipod would ve referred to peas ..
29 Oct, 2009
LOL, Bb. :-))
29 Oct, 2009
An orange would be something in your stocking for Christmas, not a mobile phone network and an egg was an egg, not a credit card.
29 Oct, 2009
Clever, Dawn!
29 Oct, 2009
A memory card was a shopping list ..blue tooth meant a dental visit ..switch turned lights on ..tweet was something birds did ..
29 Oct, 2009
Surfing was done on a surfboard and a net was something to catch fish with, ha ha, where will this end?
