darmera peltata/ indian rubarb plant or umbrella

new this year and noticed today it has one flower stem which is lovely, its surpose to turn red leaved in autumn and flower in spring lol, but im pleased with it

i got it for the leaves Terra its quite large and the fact it went redish in autumn, so was surprised to see a flower stem, :o)

Lovely Sandra and usually spring flowering think it related to saxifrage family .. will keep a look out for it as supposed to like damp areas should be nice by pond .

its next to my water feature ray, so does keep quite damp with the spray, and your right its spring flowering, not complaining though :o)

from my local nursery here where i live, im hoping it gets alot bigger then i can share it with fellow goy`s, being my first year its not been possible to split things as small, i hadnt seen this plant before i spotted it at nursery but im sure it can be found,:o)

lol ang.. not been to bad here my son got a parcel off ebay within 2 days shock horror hehe just put name in search but not come up, strange that was the name on tag when i got it unless nursery owner spelt it incorrect

Lovely picture Sanbaz, I had this growing in a pot in my pond margin, but someone, mentioning no names, knocked it into the pond :-( when he was cleaning pond filter, haven't seen it since, ponds around 7ft deep so certainly not going in to find it.

Was tempted Sanbaz, it is a gorgeous plant bought mine from a local garden centre haven't seen one since, mine always flowered in spring think the warm weathers got everything confused.

yes got my local in our village nursery, and should flower in spring before leaves then leaves turn red in autumn, as you can see this has a mind of its own lol
