They were even growing from the cracks in the cliff face. Having spent so much time here in youth, I was surprized to have no memory of these bright flowers.

I think I didn't notice as you say San. They are a native there, and probably only bloom a few weeks in late June. It is a wonder seeing our cultivated wonders just going on their own.

They're happy here with the conditions Gt....I love the rock strata...the way its slipped at such an angle...........

Its a beautiful canyon Janey. Very old bones from a ancient volcanic past with the desert creeping overtop of it. There was a hummingbird busy tending everything, a little zip sound as it wings flapped into one another. Couldn't get a good shot though, it was very wary.
I have loads TT. I didn't want to overload, just posted my favorites but I can look through and post some more.
