I had it a pot for a few years where it did absolutely nothing. I put it in the garden last year and it has shot up.

I just bought a black bamboo and was looking on the internet for data about growing it properly. I hope my plant looks as good as the one pictured above, in a couple of years of course. Right now it is only 18" high. It's a twig.

It doesn't take long to reach reasonable proportions and I need to cut mine down regularly.
