Your apple ginger crumble sounds delish!
Isn't it so much fun doing that? We had a similar day recently when the remnants of Hurricane Ida came thru, so I did the same thing and made blueberry muffins and a Boston cream roll. Yummy! and you don't have to turn on the heat cause the oven warms the house real well. I hate running the heat.
Boston cream roll is a jelly roll type cake made of yellow sponge cake rolled around custard with choc. ganache on top.

Can I come to tea ? !!

Tjhanks Pp....see you tomorrow ! Lol Plenty there for me..what would Jane be having ? Lol
15 Nov, 2009
Hmm a Glass of red and Cheese and Biscuits perhaps?
15 Nov, 2009
Well PP, it isn't really a recipe per se. I just make a yellow sponge type cake in a large flat pan and when it is done I roll it loosely in a tea towel covered with powdered sugar, when cool I unroll it and fill with a batch of Bird's custard, reroll, without the towel of course, : ) and put in fridge while I make a topping out of 1/2 cup cream heated to boil into which I melt 1/2 cup chopped chocolate, pour that over the roll and leave it in the fridge until ready to serve. Easy! Just don't roll it too tight when you first take it out of the pan, or it will break when you unroll to put on the custard.

Thanks Wohlibuli will give this a try! ;o)

20 Nov, 2009
What a shame Amy, last minute rush afraid its all gone , remember you next time lol Hope your computer is behaving itself now. so frustrating isnt it and so much catching up to do!
22 Nov, 2009
It took a bit of sorting out but everything is fine now Carole , I missed it.....
I was worried about you up there when I saw all that rain and flooding on the news , I hope you have been alright and not had any trouble with it ...
I will be first in the queue on your next baking day ... :o)
22 Nov, 2009
Pleased you have sorted your PC out. We have had very heavy rains but luckily not as bad as in Cumbria, But we have been away this weekend to Chester and it has been too wet to do any sight seeing apart from the Cathedral and the shops which is a shame as we planned to pack so much in , but never mind is near home so we will go again in the new year.
22 Nov, 2009
What a shame , still you had a break , you appreciate your own home when you go back .... did you get some Christmas shopping done instead ?
22 Nov, 2009
Yes did apreciate home, a place for everything! and shoes off a glass of wine . waiters hovering, and favourite programmes on TV and of course GOY friends! no christmas shopping, as nowadays mostly money and vouchers, apart from Robin who is easily sorted with Chocs and Drinks!
22 Nov, 2009
Sorry Amy saw it first .. it was delicious ...yum.
22 Nov, 2009
You are such a good wife, everything looks very good, you have made me hungry now..........
23 Nov, 2009
