This is pretty.Are they known sometimes known as Living stones?,as I remember buying one years ago,but it had an orange flower.

Yes, Bloomer, they are called Living Stones. I would like to see yours, think it's something different, because Lithopses have only white or yellow flowers. There are many varieties of Living Stones, and one of them is Lithops.

Sorry,Uma,I no longer have it,as it was a long time ago.Maybe I was mistaken about the colour,as I had a few cacti then as well,so it could possibly have been one of them that was orange instead,if you say Lithopses are only white or yellow

How often and long do the lithops flower for - great picture.

Thanks, Jamie! Mine flower once a year - some varieties in Spring and some ones in Autumn. It lasts two or three days...
