Hey Bernie, we should come to some arrangement - what with your drought and our incessant rain there must be a happy medium !!! Hope your garden's not suffering too badly.

I love eryngiums too, this is a beauty, do you have ' Miss Wilmotts Ghost ' ?I grew it from seed and it flowered for the first time this year amazing silver colour, also eryngium Superbum, no not a joke real name honest, which should hopefully flower next year, we have allotments at the bottom of the garden and a man on there keeps bees, the plants were covered this year they loved them, certainly one for wildlife :-)

Hi Simbad, I grew 'Miss Willmott's Ghost' in my previous garden (having seen it at Great Dixter). I bought the seed and thought I would 'do a Willmott', casting it randomly around my front garden. It was a south facing, sandy soil and I bet every seed germinated. I got an Eryngium forest ! I painfully weeded out where I didn't want them, but left the majority to grow and eventually flower. What a sight.
Thankyou, you have jogged my memory - I shall get some seed.
If I had the space, I would love to grow E. Agavifolium - have you seen this one - a cracker ! Cheers mate. :-)

Lucky you, I sowed the seed, must have been too impatient and when it didn't grow threw the seed away, the next year noticed one plant were I'd thrown the seed and transplanted it, hopefully have lots next year as let it self seed, unfortunately didn't collect any seed, not like me usually go a bit mad with seed collecting, could have sent you some.
Have seen Eryngum Agavifolium but never grown it, agree its a beauty :-)
