You've had so much snow Maureen - keep it in Essex I say.
I dont mind the snow but hate to drive in it. Its usually us a bit further up north that get it, poor you.

It makes a nice picture, we have had snow here today in Lancashire -4 and very icy, poor birds have been fantically rooting about trying to find food, But I have topped up all the feeders and thrown handfuls of food amonst the bushes.

Is your pond frozen, Milky? Like Sanbaz I love the snow too and love to walk when its 'deep and crisp and even' :)
Hope all those who don't like it are blessed with milder weather though :)

you had me singing then Gee, with then words to a famous xmas song lol

Gritting is for wimps Milky. That's why councils don't do it anymore; or is it because they are scared of being sued if someone has an accident after somewhere has been gritted? Another example of health and safety and stupidity gone mad. Whatever happend to common sense?
19 Dec, 2009
i see, its that's what its all about, I thought the councils were just cutting costs. Crazy times.
19 Dec, 2009
maybe they think someone will trip over a piece of grit toto :o))
19 Dec, 2009
Of course Sandra, that must be it, lol.

I love snowy photos, love to go out in it as long as I am well wrapped up and wearing suitable boots, everywhere looks so magical, when it snows at Christmas it makes my Christmas (and the grandchildren's ) hate it when it is slushy and dirty, nothing more beautiful than sitting by a real log fire eating crumpets, teacakes, and watching the snow fall,
It would not do for us all to be the same would it?
20 Dec, 2009
I just watch from inside thanks Dotty. Yes it does look lovely and Christmassy, but I just cant be doing with the cold.....

I thinkit luvley that so many havso many view no same, yet it stil snow - praps hte magic of xmas is lik hte crunch snow undrefoot,or hte biter wind htat burn hte cheek,or hte htrobin icy hand in frontof fire,or hte shuder shiver on enter door an the waftin smell of roastid pasmips wiht hintof mulled wine cookin by hte crakel of log firee- all you can lik or not,yet if one is miss then xmas is a litle less for others.

Very true Derekf....Together they all make Christmas...Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family.....

Milky you may already know, but if you put a ball in the pond over winter when it freeze's you just take the ball out rather than shatter the ice which can sometimes kill the fish.....:o))
23 Dec, 2009
Thanks Mushy, but its not totally frozen and now its thawing well thank goodness...
