Poinsettia on living room table 2009-12-22 001

This is the Poinsettia that my daughter gave me for Christmas. I have it on living room table where it will get the most light at this time of year as the window faces more or less East.

Yes, I agree, GT, but I had one plant in Spain that flowered every year for 5 or 6 years. Obviously the bracts were nowhere as big as shop bought ones but just the challenge of getting it to flower year after year was good enough for me!
Unfortunately most of the leaves have fallen off now & a lot of the bracts have shrivelled & died. :-( Though there are still a lot of them on the plant.

Sorry to hear, though I've heard great success stsories of them reviving. Give it a dry side time of rest and try watering again in spring. See what happens.

I will try to keep it for another year. I had no problems with the plant I had in Spain.

Wonderfully scorching red! These really are a joy though hard to get another year of color unless they are outdoors. This will repeat only with a well controlled month in fall of less than 12 hours light. In naturalized areas, that is just called winter. :-)
